Abnova
The World's Largest Antibody & Recombiant Protein manufacturer
Abnova aims to achieve this using technology specifically developed to enhance both recombinant protein and monoclonal antibody production. Their recombinant protein system is designed to produce proteins using a wheat germ based, cell-free protein synthesis system. This robust and efficient in vitro system translates mRNA to target proteins, using a system of wheat germ extract and other essential components. The key advantages of this system are that it produces stable proteins, with good yield, viable structure and physiological functionality. This system in turn forms part of their new approach to raising monoclonal antibodies. The in vitro wheat germ protein expression system provides an effective method for the generation of large quantities of antigens. It also allows the optimisation and automation of key processes, such as improvements for augmenting the mouse antibody response and hybridoma viability, along with customised automation of fusion, subcloning, liquid handling, antibody screening and characterisation. Altogether this process provides clones in just 8 weeks.
Using this technology, Abnova have the capacity to generate 500 new mouse monoclonal antibodies each month. Their goal is to have at least one antibody for everygene expressed in the human genome.
